Going back Honduras |
Good morning! Thursday, here we go! It's the first day back to school for my family and friends. Can't you feel the dread throughout the county? ha ha It's very real and articulated quite well. The dread will disappear in a little while and we'll all settle back into a routine. That's my prediction, based on years of experience.
I'm heading back to Honduras in a about 4 weeks. It's really coming fast. I booked my tickets over the break and got a pretty good deal. There are 4 of us going on the trip, including my son Lester. I'm really looking forward to the trip in lots of ways. One of the things we hope to do on the trip is to plan for a Great Banquet feast in Guajire during the summer.
This idea was inspired by the Jesus Banquet that is held at the Tegucigalpa Dump every December, where everyone is invited to come and eat a good meal. Around 1700 showed up at the last one. The idea in Guajire is to invite the whole village, along with surrounding villages, to come and eat a meal. I am hoping we can plan a time of worship around the meal. I'm very excited about it and will share more details in the days ahead.
Yesterday I spent several unplanned hours in the Bloomington Hospital. Kedra fell and broke her wrist. She is scheduled to have surgery tomorrow. She's been pretty sick all night, so I don't know what that will do. We should know more today. I'm sure she would appreciate your prayers.
Today I am trying to get back in the flow of sermon prep and all that surrounds it. I am working collaboratively with 3 others on a sermon series that we start on Sunday. We should settle into that next week. It's been a little rough this week, due to the holidays etc.
So far this year I have not missed a single day of running! That may change today. I am thinking of getting on the bike trainer sometime today, and I begin my swimming tonight. Oh boy... ha ha.
Maybe tomorrow I will do my Goals for 2013 post. They are written out, just waiting to be posted. I know you are just dying to know, so I will try not to delay too much longer.
Thanks for stopping by!
